New Jersey & You: Perfect Together

Taken from Rolling Stone.com: " Midway through last night’s Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band concert at Giants Stadium, Bruce held up a sign from an audience member that read “Play ‘Incident on 57th Street’ for your old, bald fans.” He was seconds away from complying when another sign caught his eye. “Ooh, that’s a good one — let’s do that instead,” he said, before blasting into “Blinded by the Light.” Such last-second decisions were the norm during Springsteen’s three-night stand at the venue, where he played to sold-out crowds of 55,000 fans a night — many holding up gigantic homemade signs like they were at Wrestlemania. The overall effect made night felt like a gigantic Jersey house party."

Amen, house party indeed. Complete with drunken STOCKTON STATE ( oh poor JW, I instanlty thought of you) frat boys who MOONED the Boss & screamed , "Let's go Giants!" Wrong event, lads. Take it outside.

But it barely phased me. I was too deseperate to hear hits like I'm on Fire, Dancing in the Dark, Atlantic City, etc. Not that lucky. But he did play Thunder Road, and Because the Night. That was brilliant. He is brilliant. So much so, that his voice & 50 yr plus (with his rugged good looks & black sweatbands still going strong) stage presence still gave me chills in a huge sports areana. Never thought that would happen to me, but the Garden State is full of little miracles-- and poets--like our dear, dear Bruce.

But I MUST now thank my sister for getting the tickets, getting us to & from the dregs of North Jersey, and allowing me to purchase my amazingly perfect vintage looking concert tshirt when I was broke.

I was born to run, after all.
