Simply had to share this bit about Nate Wiley and the Crowd Pleasers: stellar entertainment at Bob & Barbara's. A shrine to all things Pabst, if I ever saw one.
Alas, Mr. Wiley is no longer with us, but I had the good fortune to see that the band was still going strong this weekend.
If you are ever in Philadelphia, make sure to stop here & catch some Hammond organ action from these senior jazzcats. They make me *miss* my old town. Brooklyn has nothing like this as far as I've seen. Someone care to prove me wrong? I am all for suggestions.
But until then, B & B will remain one of my favorite reasons to love the City of Brotherly Love. It is the sixth borough, after all.
